 If you are experiencing life changes that have been shocking to your psyche, counseling can help you understand the emotional processes that occur and ways to manage your emotions when you feel they have become unmanageable. Life coaching can be incorporated to help with regaining a sense of control in your life.     

Examples include: Separation, divorce, moving out, college preparation, pregnancy & new baby, miscarriage and infertility, adoption, abortion, menopause and hormonal changes, genetic conditions, death and dying, loss of a loved one including our pets, sexual or physical abuse and more.  

 Grief comes in many forms.

 We will work with helping you to feel understood right where you are at.  It can be difficult to make sense of a loss while experiencing overwhelming emotions.   We can help you learn how to use specialized coping skills utilizing cognitive and behavioral therapy and person-centered modalities that work for you. Research has revealed 5 stages of grief. Understanding these stages can help you feel like you are not alone and better able to manage your emotions.

Examples include losses of: relationship(s), loved ones, job, financial security, home, bad habits that kept you safe, divorce, children leaving the home and more.  

 Do you have anxious thoughts running through your mind? Are you trying to distract yourself only to find them visiting you when you go to sleep?

This type of counseling targets: 

• Calming skills and exaggerated physiological responses
• Increasing mindfulness
• Feelings of panic 
• Negative thinking styles including fear of the future 
• Understanding how experiences  and genetics influence your beliefs and behaviors
• Patterns of eating and sleeping
• Managing life stressors 
• Ways to create a deeper feeling of safety and security 

 Counseling with the use of nutrition and herbal supplements to help improve physical health and mental health. 

Integrative Mental Health care is an evolving, whole-systems approach to wellness of mind, body, and spirit. It considers that symptoms are associated with multiple causes and that multiple approaches to assessment and treatment may be necessary so that each individual may attain an optimal state of health and well-being.

 Use of supplements, diet, meditations, and certain breath work can also be helpful for clients who are waiting for appointments for medication management with their doctor. It is often a collaborative effort between the prescribing physician and the Integrative provider.

Some of these tools create noticeable differences right away while others take time, usually around 3-4 months with this being the time required to replenish the entire blood supply.
