"I can change. I can live out of my imagination instead of my memory. I can tie myself to my limitless potential instead of my limiting past. I can become my own first creator." -Stephen R. Covey

Master Of Science, Counselor Education, Clinical Mental Health;
University Of Louisiana At Lafayette, 2022
Bachelors Of Arts, Sociology;
University Of Louisiana At Lafayette, 2013

Alex began his career in mental health in 2015, facilitating psychoeducational therapy groups for a diverse adult population at a community outpatient facility, where he spent five years developing his passion for helping others navigate their mental health journeys.
In 2020, Alex returned to graduate school to pursue his master’s degree in counseling. During this time, he gained experience in inpatient care while completing a private-practice internship, where he primarily worked with LGBTQ+ adults, adolescents, and couples. He completed his graduate training at UL's Counseling and Testing Center, providing counseling services to college students and staff.
Following graduate school, Alex worked as a vocational rehabilitation counselor with state government before returning to outpatient mental health, where he again facilitated community-based group therapy, primarily serving older adults. These varied experiences have allowed Alex to work with individuals across different ages, backgrounds, and levels of care while developing a flexible and individualized approach to counseling.

From Alex: “ I believe the foundation of a meaningful counseling relationship is healthy, genuine rapport between counselor and client. A strong therapeutic relationship creates space for authenticity, safety, and trust, allowing you to feel comfortable exploring your mental health needs without judgment. I also believe therapy should encourage curiosity and openness—creating an opportunity to explore different perspectives, approaches, and possibilities as we work together toward your goals.”
Eclectic is perhaps the simplest description of my therapeutic approach. My work is heavily influenced by Jungian and Narrative Therapy, which serve as two core foundations I frequently draw upon. I also incorporate elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Existential Therapy, Strength-Based Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy, adapting my approach to each individual’s needs, experiences, and goals. I believe therapy should be collaborative and flexible, allowing us to explore what feels most meaningful and helpful for you rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.

"Outside of counseling, I enjoy spending time at home with my partner of 10 years and our three feline furbabies. I am an avid music lover and enjoy karaoke, with a particular appreciation for pop and alternative music with catchy beats, creative production, and memorable hooks. I am also a mobile gamer and enjoy collecting magical and cute trinkets, art figures, and other whimsical items that reflect my enjoyment of approaching life from a more fantastical perspective."
