About Maya

Bachelor of Science in Psychology; University of Louisiana at Lafayette, 2022 

Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling; Louisiana State University, 2026

During her time at LSU, Maya held internships at Genesis Behavioral Health and St. Christopher's Addiction Wellness Center. She has experience with multiple different populations including men, women, and adolescents aged 13-17. 

During her internships, she assisted those 

with substance use and mental health disorders. She is experienced in both group and individual sessions. Maya is also a LGBTQIA+ allied counselor and is LSU safe space certified.

I have experience in using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)."
