Bridget mainly works with adult clients experiencing grief and loss, marital issues, relationship problems, anxiety, depression, addiction, moral injury and trauma. She can also help with your spiritual growth. Please advise in advance if Christian Counseling is an area that she can assist you with.
Bridget has experience with crisis intervention, individual, couples & family therapy including blended families. For the past few years she has been working with military veterans on an inpatient and outpatient basis that struggle with substance abuse and various mental health diagnoses.
Bridget is thrilled to begin her private practice journey here at Acadian Counseling Center!
Just as every individual and family are unique, so should be your therapeutic experience. Bridget uses several different modalities such as: Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Process Therapy (CPT), Solution Focused and traditional talk therapy. Bridget strives to help each and every client by providing a safe, non-judgmental space to process life events and to allow each client to move past their ‘stuck’ points in order to lead a full and productive life. The treatments that are used can help you identify unhealthy thought patterns, behaviors, and help to clarify your personal goals!
Bridget is exclusively available for in person services at this time.
"As a counselor who will utilize different approaches that will fit the client’s needs, I feel that change is possible but it’s never easy. Most people seek counseling to change their life or something in it. I think real change takes a lot of hard work and self-reflection even after counseling. Change is, in fact, one of the hardest parts of life and the scariest.
With my education, personal life experiences & training, I provide a safe, non-judgmental space to process life events where I can help you to move past your ‘stuck’ points in order to lead a full & productive life. I enjoy treating clients who are motivated to explore their thoughts & feelings, and who are open to developing strategies for positive change."
"I grew up in a tiny town in Louisiana and moved to the big city of Lafayette to attend UL Lafayette (I originally attended when it was called USL). I was always told that I was a good listener and could often be described as the “person who could help you through it”. Many different career paths over the years have led me to being “the person who would help everyone”.
Later in life, I followed the call to become a counselor and decided to pursue my Master’s in counseling where I find my greatest joy next to spending time with my 3 daughters and 3 granddaughters. My unique life experiences allow me to find common ground with many of my clients, but my compassion and empathy helps me to make a connection with each and every client."
