Rebecca has been working in the field of mental health counseling since 2020. She began her journey by volunteering her time at Crisis Text Line services where anyone can text and talk about what's going on. Rebecca ventured out to help at Heart of Hospice by providing support to hospice patients and their families for a period. Ultimately, she reached her goal of being able to provide counseling services.
Rebecca mainly works with individuals from adolescence to adulthood and has helped families with parent-child interactions. She enjoys working with anxiety, depression, life adjustment/transition, self-harm and suicidal ideation, stress/burnout management, goal setting and self-esteem issues.
From Rebecca:
"I have been trained and primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in my service to clients. Both involve looking at negative thought patterns, how to analyze and change the negative thinking, improving emotion management, developing coping strategies including mindfulness, and commitment for behavioral change."
"Starting a counseling journey can be confusing and overwhelming so my goal is to be able to talk to you and help you sort it all out. It shows courage to ask for help when you may not be used of it. I strive to provide a welcoming and understanding space for you to be able to talk these issues through and gain insight into yourself.
I look forward to working with you!"
