Sam has the majority of her experience in Caddo Parish. She has worked with Caddo Parish Juvenile Specialty Courts with the juvenile drug court and family preservation court. While there she  ran psycho-education and counseling groups related to depression, anxiety, and substance abuse using art therapy, music therapy, and talk therapy through a person-centered lens. Sam also worked in the school system at Caddo Parish Magnet High School providing individual counseling with students struggling with academics and mental health-related issues using solution focused techniques. 

She is eager to begin her private practice career at Acadian Counseling Center where she will be supported by her on-site supervisor and her well-established, knowledgeable team.

I am committed to supporting individuals on their journey to healing and self-discovery by fostering a compassionate, nonjudgemental, and collaborative counseling environment. A few of the models that I gravitate towards are: talk therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Person Centered Therapy. These modalities can vary between client. 

At this time I am only providing in-person counseling services. 

I was born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana, and recently moved to Lafayette. In my free time I like to travel, read, spend time with friends and family, and eat at local restaurants!  I  have rescued 2 cats, Biscuit and Gravy and they hold a very special place in my heart. I am very excited to be in Cajun Country and look forward to eating all the good food and meeting all the great people!
